Last week we introduced changes that we hoped would help players who have less time to play each day.
After looking at how many songs everyone plays per session, we found that half of our players were not playing enough songs per session to fill a case when you needed 450 Beatcoins. This meant that a large number of players did not have any rewards waiting for them when they returned to the game.
Not only does this not feel great as a player, but it also slows down your progress in the Journey and the number of new songs you can unlock from the Collection. To make the game feel more rewarding and to help with progression each session, we reduced the number of Beatcoins needed to open a case.
We also introduced a new Unlimited Play bundle to allow you to continue a session only when you wanted to, without having to commit to a full week upfront.
We’ve been listening closely to the community and realise that, unfortunately, we’ve missed the mark on this one. Over the past few days, we worked on further adjustments that we hope will benefit everyone.
Firstly, we’re changing the number of Beatcoins needed to open a case to 350.
We know that this isn’t back to the previous 450 that some of you would like to see, but we want everyone to be able to make progress and feel rewarded, and we feel that this is the right balance to achieve that.
You will be able to play 3 songs to fill a case, as with the 450 Beatcoins balance, with fewer songs needed to fill all 3 cases (7 songs vs 9).
Secondly, we’re going to offer two options for purchasing Unlimited Play:
- We’re bringing back the 1 week Unlimited Play + 50 Gems bundle for those that prefer having Unlimited Play whenever they want during the week.
- We will tweak the Gem bundle to have a duration of 30 minutes Unlimited Play and a cost of 25 Gems. We hope this is a better option for players looking to play a short session uninterrupted.
Both bundles will be available from the Music Library when all of your case slots are full.
These changes will roll out to everyone on Wednesday 6 April.
We hope that all our players will find these changes more to their liking. As always please continue to share your feedback with us so we can work together to make Beatstar the best possible way to experience your favourite music.
